I always love delving back into The Original Sinners world and this collection of short stories revolves around Michael and Griffin, who we met in "The Angel". This takes place before " The Virgin" so if you want to read them sequentially...It revolves around Griffin's marriage proposal, which sends Michael reeling. Everything is going fine, they hadn't even talked marriage and now he has a huge decision to make and who helps him sort through his feelings... our favorite Mistress of course! So you get a little time with her, some mentions of Father Soren and Kingsley, but they stay in the background. Michael's acceptance is beautiful and left me a little weepy. Its always amazing to see how much emotion Ms. Reisz can deliver in just 87 pages.The remainder is short stories - one about Griffin before Michael, and five set after "The Angel" - I prefer reading Ms. Reisz when I get in a slump, so I'll be reading them later but I'm positive they will be the high quality I've come to expect...

This is a Fantastic book read it in one sitting. I wish it was 500 pages. Tiffany can write love like no one else. I think this is one of the greatest love stories I've read in a long time. And it just keeps getting better. If you want romance read Micheals story it has to be the best of the best. I will tell my friends they might not get it till they read five pages that's all it takes to rut for there love. Which is their life together. It's all about your love on your terms. It is a love most of us judge from the outside Tiffany pulls you in and your reading a bi-sexual love story with BSM and all the trimmings and never read anything like it before. Hold on this is a joyride from beginning to end. And this is just the second one you must read when their love started in the Angel .

This novella is a fantastic addition to The Original Sinners Series. The Author gives us several short stories that mostly focus on Griffin and Our Gorgeous Angel, but other series favorites make appearances. This is a must read for Sinners fans.We get a glimpse of some of the highs and lows of this couple's relationship. The sex scenes are off the charts hot, but you would expect nothing less from this couple.I loved everything about this book and I would highly recommend Sinners fans snatch it up! If you haven't yet read this series....Do so now because you are missing out!

Oh Angel , these short stories you want to savor take your time, but no I couldn't I devoured them . Pure joy and ecstasy in the pages. Michael and Griffin and these compiled scenarios take place through The Original Sinner Series ( if you haven't read I'm judging you and don't read this! Again JUDGING YOU! Lol ) You're told when they happen there is no real order. You don't need it. You fall right back in love and lust with the beauty of our lovers. We have little scenes with some favorites that make cameos. As always the writing I'm laughing I'm emotional and I'm in love ,So deeply in love with our Boys.

"Michael's Wings" reminded me of why Mick and Griffin were my favorite couple of "The Original Sinners" Series. Their awkward attraction, their raw humor, their charming characters... they are just so perfect in every way imaginable no matter how different they are from each other. Mistress Nora did a pretty awesome job of steering Mick out of "rough waters threatening to tear his little boat apart and sailed him into safe harbors. Griffin's bed." 5 Affectionate Stars to my all time favorite duo... may their stories keep coming in the future... they are never enough!

A sweet and wonderful story of one of my favorite characters in the Original Sinners series. Tiffany Reisz has a talent rarely seen in literature. She brings the story to life through her words. I feel as though I have known these characters all of my life. The additional stories that she included in this book are wonderful and more insightful to their lives. I've reread the series twice and still love it and will reread again. I highly recommend "Michael's Wings" along with every single other book in the series.

Michael's Wings... *sighs* I wish I had had the self control to read this selection of short novellas much slower. But that was simply impossible. The stories were all irresistible, and it made me so happy to be in the Orginal Sinners universe once more!Reisz just has this beautiful way with words, and I can never get enough of the Original Sinners.

Purchased the book for my daughter (and myself as I lack understanding in the sport of field hockey). The book is well written and provides a clear explanation of the sport. I have found it to be very helpful to advance my knowledge. My daughter has enjoyed the book as it outlines various drills to improve her skill set. The drills are clearly outlined and very detailed with great visuals. She has been playing for 5+ years (club and local teams) and she indicated that this book has helped her. She also noted that this book will continue to be beneficial in the future as it is very comprehensive. Definitely would recommend.

A thorough guide starting from the beginning to cover sound basic skills through to some advanced play. It’s a good reference for applied technique for to assist coaches. A few more diagrams would have made it easier rather than reading an instruction a number of times. ( for those who are time poor)

Just taking on a coaching position at Club level this book has been very helpful for both myself and our new players, it is also very easy to understand.

Don't know anything about field hockey, this looks like an excellent book. Bought it for my daughter who would like to get into the sport as she gets into high school.

I purchased this book for my Granddaughter (Age16) who is exceptionally good at the sport. While still in the 10th grade, she was elevated directly to her High School's Varsity. When she entered the 11th grade, she became Co-Captain, although not a Senior. She has told me that the book was a great help, and that even with her current knowledge, she has picked up pointers that have helped her improve her game.

I played field hockey about 9 years ago and recently my arm has been slightly twisted to coach middle school hockey. I had forgotten all the basics of the game and this book is a quick to the point guide. I like the pictures it provides and the drills. My goalie coach who had never even seen a game before has been able to use the book and apply it to coaching my goalies. I definitly recommend this book whether you are a coach who is looking for a break down of skills or a player looking to improve your game.

This interesting book tells about Spokane's bridges. The last chapter in this book tells about Spokane, WA being the host city for the Expo 1974 World's Fair. Here is some of the interesting information that this book mentions in it: One of Spokane's major periods of growth was from 1900 to 1915. By 1910, Spokane had a population of 104,000. The World's Fair that came to Spokane in 1974 was known simply as Expo 74. The Great Northern station was torn down. However, the clock tower remained and continues to be the focal point in Riverfront Park today. What was the State Pavilion is now the home of the Spokane Opera House. The U.S. Pavilion still stands today minus the canopy and is the main focal point within Riverfront Park. The World's Fair in 1974 ran from May through September 1974 with more than five million visitors. Spokane was the smallest city to ever host a World Fair event until the World Fair was held in Knoxville, TN in 1982. Riverfront Park is a park that was created from the remnants of the 1974 World's Fair in Spokane, WA.

This book stays quite true to behavioral principles, in a field which is quite muddled. Behavioral pharmacology is a moniker which is tossed around quite freely. This text recognizes the fact that drugs can be quite useful (many behaviorists are strongly opposed to pharmacological intervention) but are essentially non-selective behavioral interventions. I only wish I had purchased the physical copy rather than the ebook.

The book is okay, but outdated and has several errors. We used another book for my class as well and that one was much better.

This is a superb text which goes into great detail of explaining a multitude of effects drugs have on nonhuman and human systems. I know the author, Dr. Alan Poling, as he was my professor for Behavioral Pharmacology at Western Michigan University in the fall of 2007. A must for the field of behavioral pharmacology, and I believe to be a good reference text for pharmacology and medicine as well. Gives some great insight into behavior analysis, operant condition, and respondent conditioning, and brings you up to speed before going into the behavioral aspects of drugs. It speaks to many levels, from the novice undergraduate, to the graduate student and beyond, and is supplemented with charts and data from his lab experiments. Cute layout and easy to understand, but not as helpful as I'd like if your end goal is to produce food, or to do anything cheaply. As an apartment dweller, I'm very into vertical urban farming and container gardening, where you can usefully grow your own food worth eating in a small apartment using windowsills, balconies, and containers. Ideally, I do things cheaply, using DIY planters, seed starters, etc.This book does not cover that kind of gardening.I've been into this for several years and am pretty good at it by now: I already grow my own raspberries, beans, salad greens, hot chilis, and a lot of herbs in a very small Manhattan apartment. I have produced potatoes in a "potato condo" and was hoping this book would give me ideas for more varieties of things to grow from cuttings, seeds, etc, that I was currently wasting. In my head, I was going to maximize efficiency, cost, and non-waste by turning around my kitchen scraps into more food.This book does not help with that at all.It tells you, indeed, what food items you can regrow from a pit or a cutting, but it's laid out more like a child's science experiment with an avocado pit or half a potato in a glass of water, so you can see the roots sprout and understand for yourself how nature works and that plants are alive. The varieties of plants it suggests are almost always totally inefficient in an apartment building, and will produce almost no edible results in this small of a space. For example, the entire section on fruit trees. The title bills this as "windowsill plants" and almost no fruit tree is a "windowsill plant." At least, if you can get it to survive in a small pot on your windowsill, it certainly isn't ever going to produce fruit.It tells you a lot of the dead obvious: this thing is so easy to grow, if you just stick it in the ground it will work! That's true for onions and potatos certainly (both so determined to grow they start sprouting in the pantry and in the trash all the time, we've all seen it) but they all require *having ground to stick it in.* That's not a "windowsill plant." Why would a book mention things like citrus and pomegranate that are actually enormous trees and almost never bear fruit indoors? Figs actually grow very well in New York City--if you have a backyard. Cuttings from fig trees in Italy survived so well on ships hand-carried over in the Ellis Island days and thrive so easily if you just stick them in the ground here, there is now a fascinating diversity of fig trees planted all over the city by Italian immigrants. Great. Interesting. I already knew this. This book telling me to plant something so painfully easy is not new information, especially when it requires me to have a yard.For small plants that do succeed on windowsills, the book chooses ones that require lots of advanced and money-costing equipment like heating pads and sprouting trays. I have owned all these things before and I know how to use them--and they are not beginner items. They are for serious gardeners. The bright, playful font and short length implies that this will be easy-peasy for any old regular person in a city apartment who has never grown a plant in their life, and that's totally not true. It tells you to buy peat starter pellets (which will require a long and annoying trip to a specialty garden store on the outskirts, where people have yards and do things like gardening, if you live in the dense downtown area of any city) doesn't mention that you can start seedlings in old paper egg cartons, or any number of DIY urban farming hacks that are well-published in a lot of other books actually designed for poor people or those concerned about waste and ecology trying to grow their own food. What's the point in growing something from a "kitchen scrap" if I have to buy $50 worth of equipment to sprout it myself, and then it's going to produce like, maybe one fruit or a dozen nuts ever? Filling a book with advanced and specialty items that take a lot of fussing to start is a great way to turn people off of gardening or convince them it's hard. I personally could pull off almost everything in this book with the right equipment and space, but most beginners couldn't, and sometimes I'm not looking to challenge myself to something new and difficult.It's all summed up in this book's comical inclusion of a pineapple. They are adorable to watch and easy to start and a great project for kids to learn how to grow things (right up there after potato and avocado) but they are the epitome of painfully inefficient for city people who's end goal is cheap access to actual food. One pineapple crown makes one ENORMOUS plant that dominates your entire kitchen (can't put it outside unless you're in the tropics!) and after three years, eventually shoots up a stalk with a tiny baby pineapple on it. They're ridiculously cute and fun, but an utter waste of space, resources and time if you actually want to eat pineapple.This book is basically that: cute, fun, informative, educational about how "our food really does come from nature and is part of a biological cycle!" but totally irrelevant if you want to grow actual food indoors, cheaply, on your windowsill.

I had very high hopes for this book! It was what I thought I was looking for in a book, basically how to grow kitchen scraps and turn them into edible food. That is not the case with this book. Yes, the author does go into how to regrow from some kitchen scraps, but not what I was looking for, like restarting foods from cuttings like romaine, celery, garlic, leeks, lemongrass etc.....& herbs like basil, lavender, etc...very easy stuff to propagate. I could look it all up online, but wanted the information to be in one book. Much easier that way!!That is not the case with this book. She mainly touches base on plants that will be temporary houseplants and nothing that would be able to feed you in any way. While I appreciate the authors enthusiasm to grow things, I personally love my houseplants and would be sad if they were only around for a couple of months. That is why I will not be starting any projects from this book.

There are a few good ideas in this book but a lot of it is just obvious. The cover is also a little misleading. It says "68 windowsill plants from kitchen scraps". I thought it was going to be about things like sprouting new onions from the roots you cut off, but most of it is stuff more like buy a carrot, stick it in water, and it will sprout roots and leaves. Well, dough. There's really not much about using "scraps". I guess it's a great book for folks who have always lived in a big city and don't know much about plants or growing food. I mean who knew if you plant seeds and water them that plants will sprout from them? Really? There a few tidbits I got from the book, like how to start a pineapple plant, but most of it was really obvious. However, all that said, I would recommend it for kids to teach them about nature and where food comes from.

I got this book for my husband for Valentine's day after we had great success with grocery store green onions, and the loss of almost everything else we tried to grow. I love the concept of this book because it is less commitment to use grocery store scraps than seeds or baby plants. It is also exceedingly helpful to know what will survive our Iowa winter north-facing windows. Indirect sunlight at best. I am hoping for a high success rate with our new batch of little plants! My husband has already started a ginger, pineapple, mango, garlic and potato and is hinting at wanting a pomegranate plant in the near future. We are having so much fun and learning lots!

This book is very knowledgeable about growing from plants from kitchen scraps. It does have a lot of vegetable and fruits that are foreign to North America and I would not try them. I've neve even seen this exotic fruits and vegetables in the grocery stores! But on the other hand, it does have the foods I enjoy the most, Onions, Sweet Potatoes, Celery, etc. If you want to grow foods a cheap or new way, I would get this book. It would be great for kids to try as experiments too.

This book is awesome and has saved me so much money in buying produce that I can just reuse! It's fun being able to take kitchen scraps and continue using them and watching them grow. Some of my favorites have been Meyer lemon seeds, green onions, and ginger. I reference this book frequently before I through away any kitchen scraps after cooking!

I adore this book. There are a ton of fun ideas and it is great if you have a classroom. Did you know that you could regrow most of the produce in your fridge right in you window sill? Neither did I until I read this book. I now have garlic and lettuce growing in my window sill and from kitchen scraps that most of us throw away!I recommend this book if you are looking for a way to "green" up your life. It has tons of information and is a great resource for everyday people and teachers alike.

this is a quote from the back cover: "The original book, published in 1902, contained more than thirty of Kipling's own brilliant illustrations, all of which have been faithfully reproduced in this Aziloth Books edition." "BRILLIANT" and "FAITHFULLY REPRODUCED" IS TOTALLY INACCURATE. The book itself is not large and the inside illustrations are ALL BLACK AND WHITE and SO RIDICULOUSLY SMALL that the reproductive quality is non-existant. The stories and poems are fine. I am SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED when the ILLUSTRATIONS, just as delightful as Kilings writings are impossible to enjoy..even the larger ones are reproduced so badly, fuzzy B&W lines. Some are as small as <1/2" by <1/1/2 " !!!

This book was released July 1, 2018 and I pre-ordered without reviews as none were available. I was surprised to find 2700 reviews on this book right after Amazon received it in mid-July, 2018. My review is for "this specific book." Amazon has generic reviews listed for this book of all the Rudyard Kipling "Jungle Books" they sell, so we customers do not know what reviews applies to what books. Amazon did this also with Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories many books Amazon sells. Not acceptable! This specific book, released July 1, 2018, is abridged with illustrations that can help a child understand how a boy could grow up with animals in the wild. Well written story. Definitely for ages 5 and up. I will give it to my grandson, but feel I cannot give it to my granddaughters because it has various illustrations of boy nudity from the back. 1 picture of bare butt would have been enough; the other illustrations could have had foliage discreetly hiding the nudity.

“Just So Stories” is a collection of 12 children’s stories. The theme that runs through the dozen stories is that they are mostly tall-tale answers for questions that children might have. All but two of them focus on animals and nature, and the two divergent stories deal with the origin of written language. Since it’s such a small collection and the titles tend to synopsize the stories, I’ll include the table of contents below, which may give one greater insight into the nature of the stories.1.) How the Whale Got his Throat2.) How the Camel Got his Hump3.) How the Rhinoceros Got his Skin4.) How the Leopard Got his Spots5.) The Elephant’s Child6.) The Sing-Song of Old Man Kangaroo7.) The Butterfly that StampedThe edition that I have has a number of black-and-white graphics (block print and line drawn style)—one or two per story. Given the genre, I imagine most editions have some kind of pictures, but your edition’s graphics may vary. A number of the stories include short poetry—usually at the end. The poetry is part of the original Kipling product and so are likely included in all unabridged editions.I’d recommend this book for those looking for short stories that are relatable to young children.

I first encountered this story as a child, as an animated film on television. It became my favorite story, with the cadence of the narration and the wonderful animation bringing the story to life. I used to watch it every year, just like the Christmas specials and The Wizard of Oz. I've even seen it a few times as an adult, each time reliving a little piece of my childhood.When I saw this book recently, on a list of free books, I grabbed it up so I could carry this little piece around with me all the time. I was kind of afraid to actually read the story, because so often these days books and their movies don't have much in common. However, this is word for word the animated story I have enjoyed so many times; or should I say the animated film is just like the book. The language is lyrical, and there is a rhythm to the story that reinforces this quality. If I had a child, since they don't show the film any more, this would be a regular on the bedtime story list, and not just for the language. The themes of making the best of what happens to you in life, and of protecting your family, are woven throughout this story, as well as using common sense when planning anything you have to do. I'm going to grab The Jungle Book next!

This is a beautiful copy of Just So Stories. As others have mentioned, it is a small volume but the cover is embossed and the pages are gilded. The paper is thin--not due to cheapness but rather it is fine paper. It contains the original illustrations and their captions, and it is just lovely.I ordered this copy because I was unable to find the copy my grandfather had given me as a child, which was a rather sizeable volume complete with colored illustrations on glossy paper. This copy is nothing like that volume, which held up well to the repeated use of a young child. This volume is meant for the caring, gentle hands of an older child or adult. If your child cannot use tissue paper without tearing it, this is not the volume for him or her.That said, if your child loves the stories, this would be a wonderful book to give him or her when she or he grows up.

Kipling wrote for a more leisurely age. The stories make use of a wide vocabulary and literary devices such as repetition and alliteration. It is hard for a modern child to fully understand. But there is something going on at a deeper level. They love the rhythm of Kipling. The story lines are exquisitely crafted. They like to ask questions about the vocabulary. They are fascinated with the subjects of the stories. You can read the story as written, then retell it often in your own words. For instance, I told my son the story of the insatiably curious elephant child this week when he was pestering me with questions. Then pretended to pull his nose.Also at a deep level, Kipling teaches traditional values and shares deep wisdom. The females in his stories (First Woman in The cat who walked alone, the Tailor Bird's wife in Rikki Tiki Tavi) are fully drawn and quite intelligent.It is a classic.
