I'm not sure what the difference is between this book and the author's previous book "The Ultimate Guide To Divination". I previewed both of them on Amazon but chose this because of the layout (product design is just as important to me as the content itself and this book has both). It's a good overview of several different kinds of Divination. It's not exactly comprehensive but it's not basic either. Love this reference guide!

Lanna and Detective Trudeau's relationship comes to a crossroads as Adam opens up about his past. Lana's mother has to learn to live with her own mother as she frets about the Noodle Competition and an upcoming visit with her sister. In fact, family dynamics play a huge part, not only in this book, but the whole series! And not just the Lee family either. Throughout the series we meet many families and see how they change, grow, and deal with each other. Above all there's a wonderful sense of community that I'm happy to be a part of.MURDER LO MEIN is a smart, funny mystery filled with wonderful characters and delectable food.

I'm not gonna lie I partly signed up for Netgalley just to request an ARC of this book because I could not wait, and I wanted more of Lana and Det. Trudeau. This is another cozy mystery through and through. The mystery kept me guessing till the end, I actually had convinced myself it was different murder situation, and I turned out to be wrong so Chien definitely keeps you on your toes. However, this one was not as good to me as Chien's first and second outings. While it was nice to finally get a little more backstory on Adam, I wanted more time with him and Lana and I want more time with Megan and Lana as well. I'm curious to see if Chien will take the mystery out of the world of the noddle shop plaza the next time in Wonton Terror (I am already on the lookout for it . . . I'm obsessed, I know).I love that Lana is Asian-American sleuth and at the forefront of the action. I also love how relatable she is; she's kind, got a passion for donuts and noodles, and she's realistic. More like 3.75 ish stars on this one, but I'm excited to read more from Chien in the future!

This is only book three so I'm not too far behind, but I also jumped right into the middle of this series. Honestly, it didn't effect my enjoyment in the slightest! I found myself caught up in the pages of this book on the hunt for the murderer right alongside Lana Lee. She's a great main character and both her and her family were fun to read about! I'm sure that I'm missing out on some details and background thanks to not having read the first two books but it really didn't seem to matter. I was still just swept away by the noodle contest and the hunt for the murderer. There were plenty of suspects to choose from and I'm pretty sure that I suspected them all at one point or another. My one and only complaint is that I would have loved more food descriptions because everything she ate sounded so delicious. This only comes from the fact that many of the cozies I read are more food focused so I was hoping for this to be the same. It wasn't but it still left me very hungry and craving spring rolls more than once! I especially appreciated all of the secondary characters in this book including Lana's grandmother. One of the things that I love about cozy mysteries is that they usually have great characters and this book was no different. I'm eager to get back to the first book and see how Lana and Adam first met!Overall, this was an enjoyable read that has me excited about this new to me cozy mystery series! I'm already planning on reading the first two books in the very near future so that I can be all caught up with the series before the next book releases. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble Lana can get herself into next! Side note here but how great is the title of this book?!? I absolutely love it to be honest! It's cute and catchy which fits with this book perfectly! I was left guessing until the end of this book which is always a plus as well. All of this adds up to make a very easy book for me to recommend!Bottom Line: An enjoyable read that made me instantly want to catch up with the rest of the series!Disclosure: I received a copy of this book thanks to the publisher and NetGalley. Helpful and well-written. However, my 48-yr-old self who has had multiple vivid dreams every night of her life for years has to disagree with the author's assertions that "most dreams come from God." I tried to incorporate that belief into my life for about a week after beginning this book, and about drove myself insane trying to figure my dreams out! SOME dreams are from God, and that ones that are I usually have a sense about as I wake up from them. And I usually don't have to know the meaning of a thousand different symbols in order to figure them out. Symbol knowledge helps some with many dreams, but I don't believe as much as the author claims. Everyone is living a unique life with unique ideas and perspectives, and dreams often need to be interpreted in the light of those aspects rather than cut-and-dry meanings of symbols.All that said, if you're like me and would like somewhere else to turn for help in dream interpretation besides all the New Age dream-interpretation sites on the Web, this book will give you a leg up on that.

This is one of my favorite dream interpretation books! I first came across one of Milligan's (can't remember which) books a couple of years ago. I only skimmed the dictionary to see what he says and didn't like it. I purchased this book about a week ago, because Milligan was quoted in it and decided to give him another shot.Having now read it, I'd say that it's really important to read the instructional part of the book first before diving into the dictionary portion. I noticed that (for at least the words I've look up so far) only the most "common" definitions are included in the dictionary portion. For example, the color "black" is also given the possible meanings of beautiful and substance in chapter 9, but they are left out in the dictionary in the back of the book.I also want to add that his chapters on numbers were extremely helpful! I think he's the first author I've read who has gone into this much detail regarding them. I know that I'll probably end up referring to this book not just for dreams but also when I read my Bible.

As one who has been a dreamer all my life and as a minister others seek out to interpret their dreams, I have read and consulted a lot of dream books. The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream, Biblical Keys for Hearing God's Voice in the Night, is different. This book presents expanded biblical perspective for interpretation. Of course there are other books that use the Bible as the basis for dream interpretation, but none I have read that are as biblically thorough and biblically extensive as this one. It truly lives up to its name as "The Ultimate Guide."The understanding of dreams gained from studying the material in this book also brings additional enlightened understanding of scripture which is exciting and delightful for those who study the Word regularly. The chapters and sections are manageable as study and exploration go. Not too much to grasp or relate to all at once and not too much to chart to aid dream interpretation. In fact, the author does an excellent job of outlining systems that cut categories of dream symbolism down to size so they can be easily remembered and applied because they make sense according to our everyday lives. More than charts to memorize, this book presents systems to use and explanations instead of charts. The tone of the book is very lighthearted and conversational even humorous which makes the heavy subject matter easier to digest. It not only teaches the basic precepts of dream interpretation, it also enables revelation and understanding when there needs to be action. I experienced an anointing on this book that increased my memory of my dreams, my consciousness in my dreams, as well as interpretation and revelation flowing from my dreams. I was more than impressed. As God pours out His Spirit and dreams and visions are increasing, this text is also quite timely for the perfecting of the saints and to prepare the way of the Lord's second coming. It makes interpretation and revelation of dreams much more accessible for the saints since dreams are a major way God speaks to us. Basic science and ABSITE knowledge is one thing. Which frankly is relatively easy to achieve if you are good at self-study. The wisdom and operative pearls shared shared by these masters, gained through incredibly vast experience, is something totally different. It is almost like cheating to have this book compared to those who don't.Only objection is that it is a bit old (2004) and some things have changed... like the emergence of better IR and endovascular techniques. And it is not intended to be a detailed technical reference. But the Yoda-like wisdom remains. Not only for trauma surgeons but all acute care or general surgeons.I never even write reviews. It is that good.

I was recently reminded of this book during an online discussion about surgical texts. My residency program was not heavy on penetrating trauma so I purchased Top Knife a few years ago as a "How To" guide for the oral boards. I could not have been more pleased with that decision.Top Knife is succinct yet detailed, timely yet timeless and dare I say it, funny! Several times throughout the book the authors will state something to the effect of. "The books tell you to do X; we have never been able to get X to work. If you can, please share your secret with us!" Maybe I'm easily amused but those passages made me laugh out loud as most books are filled with impractical advice that would never work outside of BMS or some other rarified theatre.We now recommend this to our residents as reading for their trauma rotation and board exams. It's that good.

the title says all you really need to know. This book presents a logical and often comical approach to the surgical trauma patient. While some parts may be outdated or controversial in our age of ebm, the core components of how to approach a crashing patient who has suffered penetrating trauma have not changed. This book was clearly written by a Trauma surgeon for surgeons. It is my favorite medical book and i wish that this style of writing was more common as it makes for a quick and memorable read.

This book was indescribably helpful while I was a general surgery resident and an Army surgeon deployed to Afghanistan. It rivals Carol Scott-Connor's book 'Chassin's Operative Surgery' as my favorite surgery book. This book boils down complex maneuvers and trauma mind frame into a delivery that is accessible to everyone. Drs Maddox and Asher chose to share their unparalleled experience with the rest of us, and I am every grateful. Highly recommend this book for all surgeons, because you think you may not be in the position to deal with some of these emergencies... But you know how life can be.

How can you not love this book? It's trauma surgery made simple. Mind you however, it will only give you the mental framework needed to approach tauma intra-operatively. It does not provide enough surgical details to suffice as an operative manual.

The best and probably only book of it's kind. 2 masters share the experiences of a lifetime in trauma surgery. Essentialy essential reading for any surgeon handling trauma!

In the introduction, the authors state clearly that their goal is to educate general surgeons in the basics of trauma surgery and that they focus exclusively on the work that needs to be done in the operating room. Readers interested in the care of the trauma patient before or after the operating room should look elsewhere.In addition, the book is aimed at surgeons who are already familiar with elective surgeries and focuses on the differences between those elective procedures and the emergent procedures required for trauma victims. As such, it's probably best suited for senior surgical residents and practicing general surgeons who don't already routinely care for trauma victims.For these groups of readers, this book is an excellent choice - it's an easy and quite educational read. Other groups of readers (such as Emergency Department personnel and ICU personnel) may wish to look elsewhere for their learning.

This is a must have resource! All teachers need to read this book. Every student who walks through our door is a unique individual. Giving every student the same thing is malpractice, not every student needs ____. What is fair is what that child needs. It can be challenging to navigate how to differentiate a classroom, we may not have experienced these practices when we were in school. This book is a must have.

I'm so excited by the content in this book. I saw a quote on Twitter and ordered the book. I have been reconsidering my school's grading policies & procedures. This book has opened my eyes to different angles of the traditional arguments for traditional grading. I have been sharing my book with my team. I'm excited about the conversations we are now having as a result. Definitely a must read for school administrators!

Some good ideas in it but I found it boring and not easily translatable to practice. I will not use it again in my methods course for preservice teachers.

Interesting and useful.

I read the first edition years ago as new administrator and it helped shape me into the educator I am today. The phrase "fair isn't always equal"l is one that I use often as do many educators, thanks to Rick Wormeli. His ideas were fresh and ahead of his time then and looking back seem almost prophetic. Reading the new edition was like connecting with an old friend a new improved and updated friend. This book has so much to offer the field of education. Every teacher, principal, and parent should read it, if they are serious about improving schools and assessment practices. The best part about Wormeli's writing is that it is practical, while offer not on the why but the how. I highly recommend this!

This is the seminal book on grading, it is compelling and thought provoking. Every principal and teacher should read this book; every college and university should include this book as part of a teacher preparation and administrative preparation program.

I have taught high school in CA for 20 years. School admin just uses his ideas on no zero test retakes and different standards for different kinds as a way to lower the academic bar.. A zero skews the kids grade downward??? How about turn in the damn work!!! God knows its just not that hard to pass.. Data driven??? Where is the data that shows giving kids endless chances and no zeros for blown off work helps them to be better students??? Now grad rates are up yet SAT scores are down and college remedial classes are busting at the seems.. Every year I watch kids who are functionally illiterate graduate in large part because teachers are under constant pressure to pass all or else.. Nothing will ever replace instrinsic motivation and a home that takes education seriously.. Just another crack pot education fad that will be gone by 2020 replaced by a new guy with a new book to sell.... geeezzzz
