At La Iglesia De La Virgen Bendecida (The Church of The Blessed Virgin) in Acapulco, Mexico, priests and children are kidnapped, the others in the congregation are brutally massacred... At The Vatican, the Pope gives his consent for a top secret mission... Brotherhood of St. Longinus, and its head, Brother Luca, make plans... President Brandon Zimmer travels to Rome and the Pope requests a private conversation with him...Cal Stokes and the men of The Jefferson Group meet up with the Brotherhood of St. Longinus in Mexico for this joint operation. The story is action packed from beginning to end. Some unlikely groups of people team up on both sides (the good and the bad) with a Washington politician teaming up with TJG. When a high-profile target is kidnapped, the men will stop at nothing to get him back. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader entertained. There were wins and there were losses... The story was heartwarming and heartbreaking in turns...The tenth instalment of Corp Justice did not disappoint this fan. The series just keeps getting better!

I just loved "Papal Justice" and was hooked from the opening paragraph. Acapulco is no longer the pristine vacation place since the drug cartels took over. Tourists are long gone and all properties along the ocean are no longer able to survive without the trade. Each Mexican Cartel's "business family" members do what their leader commands without question or remorse - even when kidnapping children and killing priests. On behalf of the Catholic Pope, Cal and the Jefferson Group head to Mexico to take on the cartel and stop the ruthless killing. What they find upon their arrival is something much more intense - Jihadists have moved into Mexico, and with the help of one of the Cartel families, they are planning an elaborate scheme to kill many American infidels in the United States and become heroes. There are many new surprises uncovered for readers during the story: a private professional group of ex-military members at the beckon of the Pope and known only to him - a religious Italian reflection similar to the relationship between the Jefferson group and the President of the U.S;, traitors are uncovered in the ranks; the Pope is lured to Mexico and kidnapped; Goucho's uncle is a Cartel Leader who helps TJG; and finally, a loveable character of past Corps Justice books leaves for good.I've read all but one of the Corps Justice books and feel that "Papal Justice" is one of the more intense and compelling installments...at least within the top two or three. Highly recommended but be prepared for the heartfelt ending. Thank you Mr. Cooper for another sleepless night.John Podlaski, author"Cherries - A Vietnam War Novel" and "When Can I Stop Running"

Mr. Cooper has given us another smash thriller that will make you think and scare you off of your chair. This story is gripping and could have been pulled off the front page of any major newspaper. Mix jihadist terrorism with Christian leadership, and stir in a bit of international drug cartel and you have the recipe for Papal Justice... Mr. Cooper has done another remarkable job putting TJG ( The Jefferson Group) in the middle of a dangerous search and rescue mission involving children, drug cartel leaders, explosives, and biological warfare. Characters jump off the page at you as they open doors, peer into the darkness, and look for the bad guys. A quick and easy read so enjoy the ride and think about how something like this could easily work it's way into the news as we are assaulted on many different fronts these days. We can only hope that there's a REAL Justice Corps out there to take out the bad guys... Semper fidelis. Keep them coming, Mr. Cooper...

Another great read by Cooper. Spoiler alert for those who don't want to know what's in the book. This one starts with Father Pietro in the Zapata district of Acapulco, Mexico. The Father is a drunk and has many times gone back to the mission late at night. This night he gets back in time to see men enter the church.Father Pietro had made it into the church and was watching as they killed several men and Father Josef. The majority of the men then left taking the children and younger men with them. The leader tells the two remaining to search the church. Before Father Pietro was a priest he was Gabriel Fusconi from Italy. He was a member of the Italy's 9th parachute Assault Regiment anti terrorist squad. He's a man who knows weapons, how to kill and how to stay alive.Father Pietro kills the two men left behind then gets out. He gets to a local bar, borrows a cell phone and makes a call to an old friend. An old friend named Luca an old friend who is also friends with the current Pope.President Zimmer visits the Vatican and the Pope. A Pope who tells Zimmer about a problem in Acapulco, Mexico. So begins another fine read by Cooper. This one has Cal, Zimmer, Travis, the Pope, Diane, the TJG group, Father Pietro, Daniel Briggs, Gaucho and his Uncle, and Uncle who's an ex Green Beret and a drug lord, Willy Trent, a group of jihadists with a plan, jihadists led by a Spaniard named Felix, a drug lord named El Moreno who's assisting the jihadists, the black ops arm of the Vatican called Longinus, kidnapped children, an underground tunnel into the US, Catholic Church's, the US Marines, Osprey's, a captured Pope, the plan for that Pope, the brothers and TJG on the trail of the jihadists, gun battles, death, destruction and Cal Stokes dealing with a heartbreaking loss which he holds himself responsible for even as his TJG group pull off a rescue get the bad guys and save the damned day.Another five star read.
