This is quite an incredible book and collection of artworks from Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama. Publisher Edition Skylight had actually published the first edition of the book in 2010 as a 448-page hardcover. With this new edition, a couple more pages of artworks were added.It's one heck of a tome. Huge, about 9 by 12 inches, hardcover, 464 pages thick. The paper quality and binding are great.The book's quite heavy so there might be additional weight surcharge depending on your shipping method and where you ship to.There's not much text so it's basically art throughout. The pages are packed with huge reproductions of Sorayama's beautiful erotic art plus the shiny chrome robots. It's just so awe-inspiring to look at so much high quality art.Sorayama has a masterly ability to draw beautiful women. Needless to say, many of the images are explicit. There are ladies in their evocative poses as well as scenes of bondage.The technical prowess as an artist is at full display page after page. The details are amazing such as the way he draws the textures of the skin, clothing, or design of the bondage equipment, how he handles metallic chrome texture, lighting and colouring. The realism is fantastic.Unfortunately, the artworks are not captioned so there's no way to know when they were created. It will be quite unbelievable to know that he's this good even at the start of his career.Overall, it's a stunning collection of work from Sorayama. If you're a Sorayama fan this is the book for you. It's big, lush and beautiful. I also own the paperback version of "Sorayama Complete Works" but I was somewhat disappointed in its 6 X 8 3/4 inch size. XL, on the other hand, measures 9 1/2 X 12 inches and is a hefty hardback so you can view the gorgeous paintings in all their glory. Well worth the price.

Far and away the best art book for grownups I have ever seen. Sorayama is a true genius. Wished all the pieces were full page, but with so many incredible pictures hard to pick a favorite. Probably page 146. Amazing! Must have for any Erotic or Taboo Art lover

This is for the Kindle version of the book, not the book itself. The Kindle version is the most assinine piece of junk for finding anything in the book. The search engine finds way too many hits when looking for a specific drug so that it takes way too long to find what is needed. A patient could die before finding the info needed. The contents page just has the first letter then a repetitive list of subject matter for drugs but without any mention of the drug. Ex. "A" - Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc.; Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc; Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc; Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc."B" - Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc; Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc; Pharmacology and mechanism of action, indications, etc..The Kindle idiots have no idea how to make digital textbooks.I had the physical copy of the first edition and loved the book. The author should cancel any contract he has with the Kindle idiots.

I have both this drug handbook and Plumb's, and I will use both for my work. However I find that Saunders provides the information to me in an easier to understand manner, as I find I can easily get lost in all the information Plumbs gives on each medication and I can lose sight of the important points I need to remember. I check both to verify dosages and ensure correct information, but when learning about medications Saunders presents it in a much clearer and succinct manner.

In the electronic form - A formulary with a nonexistant search function, a table of contents that does not list the drug names just the subsections of the drugs which are all the same. This book in electronic form is about as worthless as they get. I hard copy this book is ok but in electronic form it is impossible to navigate. - A waste of funds. I will never use it. I wish I could get my money back.

Best formulary in vet med because doses are carefully thought about based on PK/PD concepts and evidence rather than just encyclopedic listings of all doses recommended publically but all types of vets. Dr. Papich "calls" the most appropriate dose which takes the guess work out asking vets to pick a doses based on "what other people use" or "what looks right". I never felt good about having to do that with other formularies, with this one I feel like I can lean on the wisdom of someone who has dedicated their career to evidence-based pharmacology. Isn't that how formularies are supposed to work?

A must-have for veterinarians. The focus in Saunder's handbook is written so that it is easily used for clinical practice, rather than in some other formularies where they say "in 2 studies, a dosing range of 0.5-14mg/kg was used and no adverse events were noted." Formatted so that everything is easy to read, and everything written about each drug is clinically important to know.

Very helpful resource to bring in the clinic! I feel like my clinicians (just graduated veterinary school) agreed with doses I chose in this book more than other references, like plumbs. Would be better if it could fit in a lab coat pocket but not a bad size and worth carrying around!

Great formulary. If you're in vet school, buy one before you start clinics and keep your own notes in it. Does have an error regarding scheduling of tramadol on pg. 871, but otherwise it's my go-to!

I used to use Plumbs, but this one is so much more reader friendly and small. The "small" Plumbs is just really tiny print and so much extra info that I usually do not need.

Rodeo Girl is a spectacular and refreshing collection of photographs that will surely appeal to anyone interested in photography, the rodeo, or both. As an age of technology engulfs our world like a whirlwind, Lisa Eisner's lens takes the viewer through frames of the rodeo as though it were a ballad to an endangered species, a slow, lasting glimpse before it disappears forever into the sunset. Eisner finds in the rodeo what most photographers only dream of -- an opportunity to craft deliberate compositions of the spontaneous. And she takes advantage of that opportunity brilliantly. While many of the photographs are indeed of rodeo girls, the palette of subjects depicted is actually much broader. Personally, I like Eisner's sense of photographic artistry, and the high print quality helps do it justice. Among other things, with photographs in colour as well as black & white, warm tones seem to be preferred throughout which makes for a classic appearance and suits the rodeo theme well. To truly enjoy this book, set aside any preconceived notions you might have, take it one page at a time, and turn each one slowly. Otherwise, you might easily miss barrel racer Katie McCoin at Cheyenne taking time out to write a note to someone, hopeful yet easygoing Candice Fernets at the national high school finals in Gillette beaming a winsome smile wide as the West, champion steer wrestler Denver Gilbert spending a quiet moment in the truck, an ever-patient cowboy on the fence with the sun setting in the background, and many, many more memorable scenes of the rodeo that this wonderful collection of photographs will never let us forget. We are left anxiously awaiting the next rodeo, hopefully with Eisner close behind rounding up another volume of luminous photographs.

Growing up in Cheyenne and being a bit of a cowgirl myself, the beautiful photos in Rodeo Girl, capturing glimpses of "behind the shutes and corrals" activities of Cheyenne Frontier Days and other local rodeos, really brought back wonderful memories of those years. Plus, I grew up with Lisa so that made the book even more enjoyable!

I really like the movie. But I didn't order the book. Which I received. I liked it when the woman stood up for herself.

I'm really disappointed. As a current title holder and someone who has competed for national titles I don't think this book is really accurate. It is billed as a rodeo queen pictorial, but the pictures are so limited. It's about rodeo culture. Not rodeo queens.There are so many pictures of random rodeo scenes. In fact, I think it gives the layperson a really negative view of the rodeo culture. The pictures are over exposed and the way they are printed make them seem so dated. It's almost embarrasing. The few pictures that she had of queens weren't great, nothing to write home about. If they were of myself, I probably wouldn't buy the book.To me it was a disappointing waste of money. But if she got THIS published, I know I could put my personal photos together, not rake the time to title them and be a hit!

I was disappointed in this book. I have met and spent time with Miss Rodeo America 1999 and 2000, and the Miss Rodeo California's from 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 as well as held rodeo queen titles of my own.I purchased this book as a resource for rodeo and queen competitions. I expected a book about the life of a rodeo queen and some of the challenges and triumphs that are experienced by the first ladies of rodeo. This book is unfortunately of little to no use for current or potential rodeo queen competitors.Much to my surprise, this book is a compilation of untitled photos that depict candid images of rodeo queens, children, and cowboys in a variety of rodeo-ish settings. As a coffee table book, this would be great, if all I wanted was a book of pictures.

If I had not spent the last 20 years autocrossing, doing High Performance Driving Education (HPDE) events and reading other book's (such as the other Ross Bentley books) I would have given this book 5 stars. For the average driver, or novice autocrosser, or track day driver, it is an excellent book that is a great review for anyone and a must-read for the average driver. As a driving coach myself, it is a great review and a great reminder book that does not really offer a lot of new material. It is, however, very well written and although I did not feel I was finding new "nuggets of knowledge" to make me faster on the track, it was still a very good read. For most drivers, this is an essential read if you want to truly be a "good driver."

I own 5 other Speed Secrets books by Ross and I love them all... The reason I especially love this book, is because it takes a different approach to driving: one from a daily commute driver, instead of an occasional track driver. The whole emphasis of the book, is to improve your driving on the track by improving your driving on the street. This is definitely not your typical 1970s High School Driver Education handbook. Everything from seat positioning, to where to look to down the road, to the mental game is covered here... I just wish my daughters had a book like this to learn from when they were in High School... As far as I'm concerned, Chapters 11 and 13 are worth the price of the book -- Pure Gold! And, as an uptight Los Angeles commute driver, I have come to live by the mantra: "Be a Collaborative Driver"... Thank you Ross, for another fine literary achievement in the Speed Secrets library... and for helping me to "chill" during my commute!

As an introduction to high performance driving, this book is good. However, if you picked this up after already reading "Ultimate Speed Secrets" and doing your fair share of track time, this book will likely feel like a waste of time.Half of this book feels like Ross Bentley just telling you the things he wished everyone on the road knew. "This is an accelerator pedal, or on a gas engine car it's called the 'throttle' " ...Really?By the time you get toward the end of the book, everything that actually has to do with dynamics feels copy/ pasted from the other books. I kept hoping for that extra crumb of knowledge I could take with me.. but unfortunately it's all the same "smooth is fast" and "brake here not there" that you've heard before.To summarize whether you need this book:Did you just buy a Porsche 911 that you have no idea how to drive? Buy this bookIf you've done a few track days, and are looking for a few pointers to help you get that perfect balance of throttle-steer coming through an apex... this is not your book.

As a tactical driving instructor I found that the whole Speed Secrets series to be a great help in better understanding how to drive cars. Ross' knowledge of how to win in racing has a lot of application to everyday driving or in my case tactical evasive driving. For somebody who just wants an overall review of the information Ross has, I think that this is the best book of the series to get. If you want more in depth information then by all means start adding the other books in the series. I use his teaching points in my driving classes all the time. I also recommend his books when we do an instructor school.

I am a big fan Ross Bentley's speed secrets. This is my second book and I have read and listened to him many times. Repetition builds good habits and this book helps with that. I enjoyed the book and while I had heard many of the thoughts and ideas before there were some unique items or perhaps items I had missed. Getting reminded to look ahead, smooth is fast, and others is a good thing and never gets old. Never stop getting better.

Not everyone who buys a high performance car is going to track that car, but these cars are designed to be used in a way that can be. That design predicates the car to be driven aggressively and this book shows how to do this in a safe and entertaining way legally on roads where commuters and other "normal" drivers populate. That's a tall order and Ross Bentley manages to thread that line between "safe" aggression and polite cohabitation on the roads. He doesn't entirely ignore skills that are needed on a track, but serious racers may want his other books on the topic.

I would say much of the book feels like common sense, but they also say common sense isn't so common. I would consider myself an enthusiast at most, and many of the concepts covered you can figure out on your own. The chapter on road driving is information for people that would never buy the book, and info the rest of us discovered by paying attention. I was hoping it would read more technically, but was instead preachy and anecdotes scattered in.

Six chapters in and so far, I've seen nothing interesting or new. I'm hoping this improves but I fear this is more of a driving for dummies level book... way more basic and aimed at the kind of driver that isn't going to read a book on high performance driving anyway.

Very scarce on explanations. As others have mentioned, it's not enough to say "do something" without going into some detail of what you are doing and why. Also, I think the authors devoted way too many pages on things like cataloging, printing, making photo books, etc. and not nearly enough on how to actually manipulate photos, and what pages they did devote to the topic are short on explanation. And I am very surprised that they did not even go into how to fix portraits, one of the biggest uses of Lightroom. The book seems to be more of a showcase for other photographers' work, without any real relevance to the lessons within. I'll take the return postage hit and return this book as it is very disappointing.

As a photographer, I know Photoshop like the back of my hand, but was never formally taught Lightroom. I like John Evans books as he is very detailed, easy to understand, lots of diagrams and photos, well-explained, not a beginners book but not for the seriously advanced either. For those like me who had some knowledge of the product, although you could learn the program from zero knowledge with this book, but if you know the program and are looking for some thing more advanced, This is an intermediate level text book.

I like the way the CIB series walks you through the lessons step by step. Some of the exercises, like sending a picture out of LR by email can have problems unrelated to the book, but dependent on your mail system. Also, had some problems with the exercise on sharing LR images with my Android phone, again this could be somewhat related to my phone.I think the book is expensive, but in the absence of anything better, the step by step instructions are very good and work well.

This was used book. This is a course in Lightroom. The book did not contain the project files or a valid password for the link to get them.

As always, Adobe's Classroom in a Book series is excellent. It gives you the basics of how the program works in a classroom setting with questions and answers so that you know what to expect when you begin working on your own images.

Mostly the same text as previous versions, but worth it for all of the updates

Not as good as I expected it to be. I liked that you are able to download images to work along with the lessons, but I thought the lessons could have been better. I found the lessons that I have done so far have shown how to adjust the photos without explaining why. I am only on chapter 6, so I will update my review once I have completed the book.

Please save your money and don't purchase this review book. After doing several of the practice questions I began to realize that many of the answers in the answer guide were wrong. Some of the answers also blatantly contradicted themselves. I called the publisher to bring this to their attention and they did nothing about it. How can a person study for this caliber exam when the study material is not accurate? Don't buy this book!

This book is okay. The written simulation portion gives you a descent idea of what the test will be like. The multiple choice questions are less practical in preperation for the exam. This book has a lot of questions focused on nutrition, which is not a large focus at all on the NATA-BOC. I would not recommend purchusing this book.

I have the fourth edition and unfortunately the practice tests don't accurately test your knowledge. The answer key is questionable.
