The frommer's tour books are always outstanding and always accurate in regards to hotels and restaurants. When traveling I always look for a Frommer's travel book. Lots of good information on what do do and prices of attactions.

Good book

We bought a few guides to Montana, including this one, and we wouldn't recommend Frommer's Montana & Wyoming. If you want a big picture overview of these states -- a place to look at a map and get your bearings, as well as a nice, short paragraph summarizing the MAJOR points of interest -- this is a decent book. I say decent because once you do get your bearings and want to make a decision about what to visit, there isn't enough detail to do so. I also found it really outdated in terms of perspective. In the front of the book, it describes what an ATM is -- even international travelers are familiar with that term. Another example: the Glacier National Park section tells you to bring plenty of film. Film? Really? Comparatively, other guides assume people use digital cameras and spell out where people can buy film if they are still using it. This guide's perspective is outdated even for a general travel guide such as Frommer's. Travel guides are expensive; you could do better buying others and browsing this one in a library for your initial research because it doesn't provide much more than you could find during initial research on the Internet.

I didn't expect much from this book except applying the law of attraction by affirmations from the mala but was I wrong. It described in detail how it works and explains scenarios of how to use it. I meditate and also do affirmations but it is not enough, this book which I bought gives it the final punch to manifesting. Just knowing the law of attraction is not enough. Knowing how to use the mala in conjunction with LOA seals the deal. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Magic Mala". I just couldn't wait to turn the next page, I was engrossed in the book. This is a very inspiring and uplifting book. I plan on introducing this book to the book club I just joined. I also plan on buying the book for friends. For me to miss a Seinfeld episode to want to read this book means that I REALLY enjoyed reading it. lol I read it in no time, not wanting it to end. I highly recommend it.

This book has really opened my eyes to many new ways of working with my mala. I made a string of prayer beads --mala-- a few years ago for myself. Made it for stress relief and to work with mantras and the Divine Feminine. I love my mala even though it is quite simple - not a fancy beaded one-used what I had which was all I could get. I know from using it how much it helped my health and mind. Your book though has given me so many new ideas! I'm excited to practice them. This does remind of the Celestine Prophecy, like that book this too is a spiritual adventure. Thank you for writing it and sharing wisdom in a great story format.

I wanted to love this book, because I think it's so important to have more spiritual novels in the world. Given the excellent reviews, for the most part, I thought this would be right up my alley. Unfortunately, the story comes across as too simple, too preachy, and the characters do not have to face any obstacles.Everything just sails on, as if the novel would have been written by a 15-year old. I also found the wife quite dumb and irresponsible. They don't have money to eat anything but mac and cheese from a box, but she goes out and has a sundae? And they owe several months of rent, but she signs up for a new apartment and just thinks it's OK not to pay her current landlord?I understand the thought behind it - have faith and everything will work out. BUT, this faith should not include scamming and cheating other people. The universe (or God) doesn't work that way. you have to act in the best interest of all involved.This book would have been much better as non-fiction. Unless you're new to spirituality, this book will definitely not change your life.

This book was not what I expected. This book is more on manifestation and limited beliefs. I’ve already been reading a lot about the topic, so I didn’t really get anything from this other than I really truly do want a mala- in fact I manifested one for free (it’s currently being made for me). I got this book because I recently have been wanting a mala. Overall the book is good and a great pick me up for anyone who is going through hard times. Would have loved this 1-2 years ago.

It is a very detailed look at the beginning of the industrialization of food in the US, when we moved to large scale food processing and distribution. All types of food, candy, medicines, and beverages were modified, faked, disguised or adulterated with additives, preservatives, fillers, colorants, discolorants, watered down, and it was all legal, because there were no food laws.If formaldehyde in your milk or meat sounds wholesome, this era is for you. A short list of the ingredients that were routinely added to food, beverages, candy, and medicine; formaldehyde, coal tar (or aniline) dyes, copper sulfate, zinc, salicylic acid, methyl alcohol, borax, sulfuric acid, diethylene glycol, sodium sulfite, alum, coconut and almond and other nut shells, sawdust, morphine, heroin, cocaine, arsenic, mercury, lead, copper....Harvey Wiley led what was the forerunner of the Food and Drug Administration and battled all sorts of obstacles, but made slow, steady progress. He used healthy human volunteers to test some of the additives, they were known as the ‘Poison Squad’.His foes and a few friends were both big and little food processors, politicians on the take, trade associations protecting their turf, beareaucrats, The Women’s Christian Temperance Union, Upton Sinclair, Good Housekeeping magazine, throw in Teddy Roosevelt and the Roughriders, it was a wild time back in those days.At the end of 29 years with the US Department of Agriculture, Wiley had established a blueprint for food testing and more importantly convinced a significant number of people that we should be testing and protecting our food from all sorts of adulterations.Again, if time travel ever becomes feasible, and you travel back to the early 1900s, you may want to take your lunch with you.

To be honest I had never heard of the Poison Squad nor Dr. Wiley. Now I know about the birth of the FDA. You'll also begin to realize that current efforts to get rid of government regulations (yes, the Trump administration) of food, environment, fuel consumption, what have you, do not benefit we the consumers.This is a fascinating look back at how one man bulldozed his way to help us all.

With the rash of bad food safety news and attempts at deregulation, @DeborahBlum’s book, The Poison Squad, couldn’t have been better timed. Reading this will make you an ardent advocate for stronger regulation, not relaxing it. Can you imaging a review board (IRB) now allowing Wiley’s testing of adulterants on healthy volunteers?I’ve regularly written about food safety from the infectious disease or outbreak perspective. This is the other side of the coin, with fraudulent and dangerous food additives.Drug development for safety and efficacy was the focus of much of my professional career. Counterfeit medicines also have a huge overlap with Infectious Diseases, as illustrated by the growth of artemisinin-resistant malaria.Blum’s thoroughly documented, engaging—and at times nauseating—read, is a must-read for anyone who is concerned about health and safety-- in particular, of children. It is graphic, of necessity.The Poison Squad is a call to arms for more safety and protection for whistle-blowers, not a laissez-faire government.Well-deserved acclamation and placement on “Best Science Books” lists.

The theme is very interesting but the author fails to focus on the most important facts. The writing is not concise - e.g.: he goes on and on about the canned meat sent to US soldiers in the war against Spain in Cuba without revealing anything interesting. There is no climax. He mentions products but do not explain what they are. There are long lists with contributors right at the beginning of the book. He mentions some food additives and preservatives that we not necessarily know but he does not explain possible health hazards caused by these. I think that the main problem with the book is the fact that the author is writing about a scientific topic without having the proper basic scientific knowledge to understand what should be the focus of his text. Evidence of this lack of knowledge can be seen on his explanation about glucose, located at about 6% of the reading for those using an e-reader.

written by the first US forensic examiner who made the lab at Bellevue Hospital on Long Island, I learned a lot from this book. Very well done and ties into the historic background, such as all the folks coming in crazy or dying from alcohol which had been poisoned by the US Treasury during prohibition. A good read and I recommend this book.

I purchased this after reading the intro written by Ann Rice and thought it would be similar to 50 Shades, which I enjoyed. This was not reading enjoyment. A far cry from "soft porn", this was violent, graphic rape and abuse. I deleted this from my Kindle by chapter 4, as I was hoping it would obtain more of a story line...it does not.Very disappointed since Ms. Rice is one of my favorite authors. I will be sticking to her vampires, werewolves and witches.

Cheeky, naughty, and sexy, the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy was 100x better than "50 Shades of Juvenile Writing" ... I mean "Grey."

Spanking, more spanking, and then a bit more spanking. I still don't think the slaves are enjoying any of it. I'm just very sad for everyone involved.

Loved it. It took me a while to get into this book series because its something that I have never read before. I read the first one a year ago and hated it. So I thought I would give it another try because I expected what was going to happen the shock factor was lower and that fact that I was able to connect into this fantasy world. It was fantastic. I am used to reading books as I am the characters and this is one of those books I had to read as just a book. But WHOA some of the scenes are graphic and well written, after reading it the second time I was immerced in each book I couldn't put them down. I bought all of them and loved each one for different reasons. Way to go Anne I am glad I gave this a second shot.

Definitely for the sexually open minded adult reader only.

I had actually owned/read this trilogy a long time ago but wanted to get a new copy for myself. Anyone picking this up because they like Anne Rice (who is writing under the name A. N. Roquelaure) should be advised that this is not like her "normal" stories, such as The Vampire Chronicles. To be blunt, this is an erotica trilogy, and as such, there is a lot of explicit sex.

Beautifully illustrated book! I am a visual person so seeing all of the colorful watercolor pictures along with detailed information about each breed made this educational book so enjoyable too. Very informative beginners book about getting started as a chicken keeper. Written by someone who obviously knows chickens.My only negative, and this is just me, is that this book was based out of the UK, and I am from the US, but most of the information was still useful to me here in the US.I would recommend this book to other beginners wanting to get a backyard flock. After reading the book I am happy with the breed choices that I already made. I learned that all of my breeds will lay lots of eggs and most will be broody as well, in case I decide to raise a next generation of chicks from these.All in all a very enjoyable read!

Beautiful book HOWEVER I ordered 2 books each $12+ YET one book came with a HUGE $6 sticker on the front cover. (the sticker could not be removed) Thankfully I planned on keeping a copy for me. The listing should have BOLDLY stated that a non removable sticker was on one of the books (plus I should have only been charged $6 for that one!) You will not find more beautiful chicken illustrations anywhere.

I was surprised by the incredible variety in the species and delighted by the artist's skillful portrayal of them. A wonderful gift for art lovers, even if they don't raise chickens. Worth the full price for the wonderful illustrations alone, at the current 0.99cents offer its a no-brainer. As a novice who is intending to keep chickens, I can't comment on the accuracy or completeness of the text, but it appears good compared to other chicken books i have looked at. There is detailed information on each breed, plus information on chickens in general, coop space, diseases and their treatments etc.

I've read a lot of chicken books and the content of one sort of blends into the others, so I can't fairly rate the content of this book. But the watercolors paintings of the chickens are prolific and absolutely gorgeous! Worth the money for the illustrations alone. Beautiful, beautiful! Even paintings of the slightly different tints of each egg shell. Wonderful book!

I like the book because it is informative of the different breeds of Chickens breeds. It gives an overall knowledge of housing, keeping, feeding these birds. Very nice pictures of each breed with detail description was very helpful to me. It is easy to read and understandable by young children as well.

I really liked this book. I helped me to choose the breed of hens because of the great information in this book. Plus it has a great glossary of terms and table of contents. Loads of references!!
